About Juliet Hill

Looking for a Counsellor?
I work in a warm. secure way and offer both short and long-term counselling to individuals and also couples. I am experienced in Therapeutic Counselling and CBT.

From time to time during our lives we all experience difficulties which can feel overwhelming. This may be due to something that has recently happened such as a breakdown in a relationship, bereavement or loss of employment.
However some difficulties a person may be experiencing in their current lives may not be so easy to identify and this may be because they are related to earlier painful experiences and feelings that were too difficult, or they were unable to deal with at the time.

How Counselling can help.
Counselling provides a safe, secure and confidential environment which leads towards developing a trusting therapeutic relationship. This can enable you to explore the difficulties you are experiencing and gain a deeper understanding of both yourself and the nature of your difficulties.
Counselling is the first step in enabling you to take control of your life and develop the self awareness and confidence to make the changes you want.

I am an experienced counsellor working from Gandy Street in the centre of Exeter. My approach is mostly person-centred but when words are not enough I may offer gentle exercises to help bring clarity and understanding, bringing you the freedom to work towards a positive future.

I am also a qualified and experienced CBT practitioner, working with a range of issues but particularly anxiety and depression, identifying the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may be contributing to your distress, with the goal of developing healthier coping strategies and more balanced, helpful beliefs.

As well as individuals I work with couples, giving you the opportunity to explore your relationship and the time and space to talk through any difficulties or conflicts in the safety of the counselling relationship to enable you to move forward.

Both daytime and evening appointments are available.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ring me or send an email. You may need to leave a message - if so please give your phone number and suggest a good time to call back.
I am a fully insured member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and seek to work at all times within their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
The charge for a counselling session is £40 (or £55 for a couples session for an hour and a half). I offer a free initial consultation - this is not a counselling session but gives you the opportunity to meet me and ask any questions about what to expect from your counselling. There is no obligation at all.
